Professional Guidance

Welcome to my website,

If you have ever thought about learning to play the piano either for yourself or your child, then why not come along, say hello and try out some first steps in learning to play, or, maybe you've had lessons before and are thinking of taking up where you left off.  I am happy to teach children from the age of seven and of course, adults of all ages!  You can learn to play for enjoyment or I can help you to prepare for exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

The exam board now offer a Performance Exam in addition to the regular face to face practical exam taken at an exam centre.  This exam is recorded at my home and then uploaded to the ABRSM website.  The certificate you receive holds the same value as a face to face exam and, in my opinion, is a good choice for the more anxious among us as we have the opportunity of recording any number of times to achieve an optimal performance.

In addition to piano performance I can also tutor you in music theory.  Grade 5 music theory is a pre-requisite for taking a Grade 6, 7 or 8 practical/performance exam.

I offer an initial, free, no obligation, "meet the teacher" introductory class where we can try out a few things on the piano and have a chat about progression. Lessons take place at my home in Stafford playing my Yamaha U1 piano.

“I have been learning the piano with Jeanette for approximately 9 years now. It was something I always wanted to do as a child but never had the chance, so I decided to take it up in later years (I am now in my early seventies). It is one of the best things I ever did!! It has given me a great hobby in retirement and also a sense of achievement among other things.

Jeanette is a lovely teacher with plenty of patience, who has kept my interest going. I would highly recommend her."
